What inspired Delna’s Business?
Delna is passionate about plant-based, handcrafted, small batch meals with layers of flavors. The growing awareness of different cultures and the acceptance of diversity has spurred a demand for ethnic meals. Delna recognized this as an opportunity to offer traditional family recipes that are adapted to avoid major allergens and incorporate wholesome ingredients like quinoa, flax, millets, tempeh etc.
Delna was able to get her business off the ground and have a range of ready-to-eat frozen meals from the Indian sub-continent in all major co-op stores in Vermont within six months of starting Delna’s Kitchen. Her steady growth has allowed her to outline a plan to expand into neighboring states in the near future.

Delna has taken multiple online webinars offered by her local and regional CWE that has provided her with valuable knowledge to manage her business. She found the free resources and the additional personal consultations specifically helped her with her individual needs. With the 10-week business planning course from CWE, Delna learned a lot about the food business that she has been able to apply to help grow Delna’s Kitchen.
