The Center for Women & Enterprise (CWE) is a non-profit economic empowerment organization whose mission is to strengthen communities and the economy by supporting women to launch and successfully sustain businesses.  Opened in 2000, the Rhode Island Women's Business Center operates in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration.  We offer consultations, workshops and networking opportunities to help you reach your entrepreneurial goals.

Recurring Workshops in Rhode Island

PVD Self-Employment Program/CEP Business Planning Class [4-Week Virtual Class]-English

This course will help you to take the necessary steps to becoming an independent business owner, while gaining confidence in yourself and your knowledge of small business management.

New classes start regularly and meet Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:30pm.

Cost: $495. Providence residents can apply here to take the class for free. Non-Providence residents, please email  info.rhodeisland@cweonline.org to ask about scholarship opportunities and to apply for the class.

Programa de Auto-Empleo de PVD/Planificación de su Negocio [Curso virtual de 10 semanas]-Español

Este curso lo ayudará a tomar los pasos necesarios para convertirse en propietario de un negocio independiente, mientras gana confianza en usted mismo y en su conocimiento de la administración de pequeñas empresas.

Nuevas clases darán inicio regularmente! Dichas clases se reúnen por diez sesiones de dos horas cada sesión.

El objetivo de esta clase es brindar la oportunidad y la información necesaria para desarrollar un plan de negocios, también conocido como plan comercial en español. La perspectiva de escribir un plan de negocios puede parecer insuperable para muchos; por eso, ofrecemos un proceso paso a paso para lograr la meta deseada: Un Plan de Negocios que (1) sea una guía para su negocio y (2) sirva como un documento para obtener financiamiento. Más aún, esta clase provee un foro y una oportunidad para explorar y discutir el potencial de su negocio (y el potencial propio como propietario de un negocio), para aquellos que no están seguros y necesitan enfocar sus ideas.
