Why CWE?

Having worked primarily with large established companies my whole career, I know what it takes for business owners and entrepreneurs to become industry leaders.  What I’ve never been exposed to is how those business owners struggled through the early years of establishing a viable business.  This uphill battle is even greater for women and women of color. Recent studies have called out that roughly 40% of entrepreneurs are women, yet they receive only 3% of total startup investment in the US.  CWE’s mission speaks not only to supporting that entrepreneurial spirit, but also specifically addresses the unique challenges faced by women as they establish their businesses.  I’m thrilled to be part of an organization that is dedicated to narrowing the gap for female entrepreneurs and helping them become viable, successful businesses – whatever that means to them.
